But this holiday season isn’t just about celebrating our success—it’s also about giving back. That’s why we’ve chosen Challenge Air as the recipient of all proceeds from the ornament sales. And here’s some fantastic news: we’ve just announced a $500 match on donations, ensuring at least $1,000 gets donated to this inspiring organization!
A Keepsake with a Cause
We wanted this keepsake memento to not only mark our first year but also to make a real impact. After an extensive search, we found Challenge Air to be the perfect partner. The materials and labor to produce the ornaments are being donated by members of the SayIntentions team, so every dollar from the sale of each ornament (minus shipping costs) goes directly to Challenge Air. Challenge Air was created in 1993 by Rick Amber, a U.S. naval aviator who became paralyzed from the neck down in 1971 when his jet crashed during a landing attempt on an aircraft carrier. Despite his injury, Rick went on to win the U.S. Open National Wheelchair Tennis Championship and eventually returned to aviation, creating Challenge Air to help children with disabilities overcome their own challenges. Through flights, Rick inspired kids to change their perceptions of what they could achieve—and Challenge Air continues to spread that mission today.
We’ve had the pleasure of working with April Culver, Executive Director & CEO of Challenge Air for the past 10 years. She has been a wonderful guide, introducing us to the charity’s mission. April is also the featured guest on our Vectors To Final livestream on December 5, 2024, where she discusses Challenge Air and answers questions from our viewers. Missed the livestream? Don’t worry!
